Roundup - Week 5

 

8th grade

Tier 1

 

Jimmy Driscoll scored twice, Matt Papagikos had a goal and an assist and Nick Hubbard pitched a shutout in Lynnfield’s 7-0 victory over Winthrop; Gilbert started a four-goal third-period outburst 40 seconds into the period as Windham downed Chelmsford 5-2; Reilly scored what turned out to be the winner in the first period as Storm 78 defeated Burlington 4-1; and Matt Mulhern scored twice in Westford’s 5-2 win over North Reading.

 

Tier 2

 

Sanborn won twice. Allard and Sabatini scored 16 seconds apart in the second period of a 5-2 triumph over Bedford – and Venturi scored two goals and set up another and Barone also scored twice in a 7-2 win over Woburn;

 

Ben Cardillo, who also had an assist, scored what turned out to be the winner with 6:58 left as Dracut edged Woburn 3-2; the Warriors and Groton/Dunstable tied 3-3; and Diblias pitched a shutout and Fitzpatrick scored early in North Andover’s 1-0 victory over Cambridge.

7th grade

Tier 1

 

Gagnon scored four goals, Ketcher scored one goal and handed out three assists and Magee had two assists in Triton’s 6-2 win over Methuen; and Burlington and Wakefield tied 1-1.

 

Tier 2

 

Colby Savageau pitched a shutout and Max Condon scored in the first period in Salem’s 3-0 win over Chelmsford; No.20 scored the winner with 1:22 left in the second period as Melrose edged Billerica 2-1; and JR Bonia and Bodie Marcotte both wore hats, Bonia adding two assists, Spencer Joslin delivered two goals and an assist and Will Palermino a goal and two helpers in Amesbury’s 11-5 win over Lincoln/Sudbury – Graf with two goals and an assist and Venuto two goals in the loss.

 

Tier 3

 

Gerald Hsin and Jack Paradee both had two goals and an assist and Illa Tamizharasan also scored twice in Westford’s 8-1 victory over Melrose; Dequire wore the hat and added an assist as Everett/Mystic Valley topped Exeter 6-1; Hurt, Paluso and Bazin all wore hats, Hurt adding two assists, Jack Welby clicked for two goals and three assists and Derek Cain two assists in Windham’s big win over North Andover; and Arsenault wore the hat and had an assist, Hall posted a goal and two assists, Churcher scored twice and Marchella two helpers as Saugus defeated Timberlane 9-6 – Billy Shanley with a hat trick and an assist and Cole Rego a goal and an assist in the loss.

6th Grade

Tier 1

 

Andrew Martin wore the hat in Wakefield’s 5-1 victory over Arlington; and No. 2 scored what turned out to be the winner with one second left in the second period as Danvers trimmed North Andover 2-1.

 

Tier 2

 

Justin Ventura and No. 5 scored 1:18 apart in the first period as Reading trimmed Chelmsford 3-1; McWhinnie posted two goals and an assist and Nestor had a goal and an assist in Burlington’s 8-5 victory over Stoneham; Matt Lumia had two goals and an assist, Jake Meeker scored twice and Aidan Lally and Nolan Hackett both had a goal and an assist as Dracut topped Medford 6-4 – Sheehan with two goals in the loss; and Fox had a goal and two assists and Bowen scored two goals in1 1 seconds as Beverly defeated Salem 6-1.

 

Tier 3

 

Jacob Harris and Braeden Perry both scored two goals and set up another in Cape Ann’s 8-5 victory over Lynn – JJ Avery with a hat trick and Trent Cahill a goal and an assist in the loss; Gavin Henry scored one goal and handed out two assists, Andrew Bolton and Colin Comeau both scored twice and Evan Smith had a goal and an assist in Methuen’s 9-1 win over Beverly; and No. 14 wore the hat as the Warriors topped Windham 5-2.

 

Tier 4

 

Dan Hanafin scored one goal and set up another in Burlington’s 5-2 victory over Peabody; and Rocky Pratt scored twice as Manchester/Essex downed Winthrop 6-3 – No. 17 with a goal and an assist in the loss.

5th Grade

Dominic Villaire scored four goals and handed out two assists, Aidan Kenney scored twice, Tom Gonsalves had a goal and an assist and Will McNeil pitched a shutout in Chelmsford’s 8-0 victory over Bedford; Bradley Kaufman scored four goals, Chase Kaufman and John Taylor both posted a goal and two assists and Davin Myette came within 3:19 of a shutout as Wakefield Grey topped Merrimack Valley 7-2 – Costa with two late goals in the loss; and MacAulay scored four goals, including a natural hat over 2:15 and two goals in 16 seconds in the second period and Finkle also wore a hat, adding an assist in Marblehead’s 9-6 victory over Wakefield Red – Covelluzzi with four goals and Biscoe a goal and an assist in the loss.
